What to Focus On

  • An equal angle is copied by using the same arc radius at both vertices.
  • An angle bisector divides an angle into two equal parts.
  • The radius used while bisecting an angle must be more than half of the distance between the two arc-cut points.

  • The perpendicular bisector cuts a segment into two equal parts at 90°.
  • The radius for intersecting arcs must be more than half of the segment being used.
  • A line segment has exactly one perpendicular bisector.

  • SSS construction uses three side lengths.
  • SAS construction uses two sides and the included angle.
  • ASA construction uses two angles and the included side.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

The circumcentre and incentre are the same point in a triangle.

Any circle through one or two vertices of a triangle is the circumcircle.

The radius used for intersecting arcs can be exactly half of the segment or angle chord being bisected.
