Key Topics to Revise

1

1. Quadrilateral and Angle Properties

  • A closed figure bounded by four line segments is called a quadrilateral.
  • In quadrilateral ABCD, AB and DC are opposite sides, BC and AD are opposite sides, and AC and BD are the diagonals.
  • The sum of all interior angles of a quadrilateral is 360°.
2

2. Types of Quadrilaterals

  • A trapezium has only one pair of opposite sides parallel.
  • A kite has two pairs of equal adjacent sides.
  • A parallelogram has both pairs of opposite sides parallel.
3

3. Properties of Parallelogram, Rhombus, Rectangle, and Square

  • In a parallelogram, opposite sides are equal.
  • In a parallelogram, opposite angles are equal.
  • In a parallelogram, diagonals bisect each other.
4

4. Standard Angle Examples

  • If one angle of a parallelogram is known, the opposite angle is equal and the adjacent angle is supplementary.
  • In a rhombus, adjacent angles add up to 180°.
  • If one diagonal of a rhombus equals a side, the rhombus angles are 60°, 120°, 60°, 120°.
