1. Quadrilateral and Angle Properties
- A closed figure bounded by four line segments is called a quadrilateral.
- In quadrilateral ABCD, AB and DC are opposite sides, BC and AD are opposite sides, and AC and BD are the diagonals.
- The sum of all interior angles of a quadrilateral is 360°.
2. Types of Quadrilaterals
- A trapezium has only one pair of opposite sides parallel.
- A kite has two pairs of equal adjacent sides.
- A parallelogram has both pairs of opposite sides parallel.
3. Properties of Parallelogram, Rhombus, Rectangle, and Square
- In a parallelogram, opposite sides are equal.
- In a parallelogram, opposite angles are equal.
- In a parallelogram, diagonals bisect each other.
4. Standard Angle Examples
- If one angle of a parallelogram is known, the opposite angle is equal and the adjacent angle is supplementary.
- In a rhombus, adjacent angles add up to 180°.
- If one diagonal of a rhombus equals a side, the rhombus angles are 60°, 120°, 60°, 120°.
