1. Reflection of Light

  • Reflection is the bouncing back of light after it falls on a surface.
  • A smooth shining surface that reflects most of the light is called a mirror.
  • Incident ray, reflected ray, and the normal all lie in the same plane.

  • In a plane mirror, the image is virtual, erect, and the same size as the object.
  • The image is formed at the same distance behind the mirror as the object is in front of it.
