What is reflection of light?

Reflection is the bouncing back of light after it falls on a surface. A smooth and shiny surface reflects light well.
State the two laws of reflection.

1. The incident ray, reflected ray, and the normal all lie in the same plane. 2. The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection: ∠i = ∠r.
What changes during reflection of light?
Answer
During reflection, speed, frequency, and wavelength of light do not change.
A plane mirror shows a person's full image. How much mirror height is needed?
Answer
A plane mirror of half the person's height is enough to see the full image.
Why does a plane mirror show left-right reversal?
Answer
The mirror reverses front-back direction, not left-right directly. This causes lateral inversion, so left becomes right and right becomes left in the image.
A person moves towards a plane mirror with velocity v. What happens to the image?
Answer
The image also moves with velocity v towards the mirror. The velocity of the image with respect to the object is 2v.
What is a real image and what is a virtual image?
Answer
A real image is formed by actual intersection of rays and can be projected on a screen. A virtual image is formed by apparent meeting of rays and cannot be projected on a screen.
How do regular reflection and diffused reflection differ?
Answer
