Cylinder and Hollow Cylinder

  • A right circular cylinder is formed when a rectangle is revolved about one of its sides.
  • The side about which the rectangle revolves is the height of the cylinder.
  • The line generating the curved surface is called the generating line.

  • A right circular cone is generated by revolving a right-angled triangle about one of the sides containing the right angle.
