1) Nuclear Fission

nuclear fission is a process in which a heavy nucleus, after capturing a thermal neutron (having energy 0.027 eV ), splits up into two lighter nuclei

K = (Number of neutrons present at the beginning of present generation) / (Number of neutrons in the beginning of previous generation)

N ∝ r^3 = k1 r^3; A ∝ r^3 = k2 r^3; L ∝ r^2 = k3 r^2

(N-A)/L = (k1-k2)r^3 / k3 r^2 = kr > 1, so r > 1/k

(0.9 MeV) × 236 = 212 MeV, or roughly 200 MeV

2) Chain Reaction, K Factor, Criticality

K = (Number of neutrons present at the beginning of present generation) / (Number of neutrons in the beginning of previous generation)

K = 1

K > 1

K < 1

r > 1/k
