  • The unitary method first finds the value of a unit quantity.
  • After finding the value of 1 unit, the required value is calculated from it.
  • This method is helpful when the given quantity and the required quantity are connected by a fixed relationship.

  • In direct variation, both quantities increase together or decrease together.
