1. Basic idea of concurrency
- Three lines in a plane may be parallel, intersect in one point, intersect in two points, or intersect at most in three points.
- Lines that pass through the same point are called concurrent lines.
- The common point is called the point of concurrency.

- An angle bisector divides an angle into two equal parts.
- A triangle has three angle bisectors.

3. Perpendicular bisectors and the circumcentre

4. Altitudes and the orthocentre
- An altitude is a perpendicular drawn from a vertex to the opposite side.
- A triangle has three vertices, so three altitudes can be drawn.
- The three altitudes of a triangle are concurrent.
